About Rockin' the Rivers, Roads & Rails

About RRRIn 2004 Amanda moved to The French Quarter in New Orleans to develop DME’s Rockin’ the Rivers, Roads and Rails travel component.

The Delta Music Experience (DME) concept was developed in 1997. It started with gathering music fans together around a national tour to create The Luther Allison endowment fund. DME continued through 2004 with individual musical events primarily in California.

Amanda Gresham developed Rockin' the Rivers first, and produced the inaugural cruise launching in the spring of 2005; a four-day steamboat trip on the mighty Mississippi originating out of New Orleans. Next was the 2006 New Orleans /Northwest Mardi Gras on the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest. In 2006 Gresham added 8 DME Blues Cruises to the DME Louisiana Pavilion at Waterfront Blues Fest over the July 4th weekend and still process and sponsors those festival attractions today. Since 2006, hand delivered DME-VIP Packages are a favorite for the musicians who eagerly await their “Lagniappe” backstage at Winthrop Rhythm & Blues Festival Gresham created the first Blues Stage named the DME Pavilion Stage at Michael Arnone’s Crawfish Festival in June 2007 at the Sussex County, New Jersey. After 3 years, DME and Jägermeister did a joint-sponsorship of the DME Pavilion Stage and then DME decided to place a more concentrated focus on producing Rockin' the Rivers, Roads and Rails.

In 2008, Gresham added Rockin' the Rails & Rockin' the Roads. The two-week long Rockin' the Roads DME Real Deal Delta Experience began in New Orleans, LA and made it's way to Clarksdale, MS. After navigating Louisiana's bayou's, the sights and sounds of New Orlean's and eating our way though French Quarter, the passengers were Rockin' the Rails on Amtrak up to the Mississippi Delta to exploring the roots of blues music for an DME-VIP style Juke Joint Festival Weekend.

In September 2010, local residents and people from all over the world including Japan, Louisiana and California traveled to experience DME's New Orleans/NW Big Easy DMExpress Rockin' the Rails train trip along the coast of Oregon from Garibaldi to Wheeler.
